As for today, the āBig, Beautiful Billā cleared the Senate. President Trump called the news āmusic to my ears.ā
It now heads back to the House where it has three days to clear the Presidentās July 4 deadline.
The Senate version had some pretty big changes compared to what passed the House in May, so weāll see if the chambers can come to an agreement.
In other news, Jerome Powell confirmed today what weāve all suspected ā that if not for the Presidentās large proposed tariffs, we would have seen rate cuts already.
āIn effect, we went on hold when we saw the size of the tariffs and essentially all inflation forecasts for the United States went up materially as a consequence of the tariffs,ā he said.
That suggests that if the President can make peace with our largest trading partners, we could see rate cuts very quickly thereafter.
The markets closed basically flat on the dayās news, but that wasnāt the case for my ātactical tradeā idea, which reached as high as 12% today before closing up 7%.
Iād say we bagged a rabbit and not a deer, but that should hold us over until tomorrowās idea.
The stock Iām eyeing has steadily risen 28% in the last month, and it especially ramped up into the close todayā¦
I love seeing that kind of momentum going into a morning play.
