Cramer Aftermath: This didn’t take long

The larger problem facing investors today...

If you're looking for a stock market indicator, you might want to stop watching earnings reports and start watching Jim Cramer.

Because once again, the "Mad Money" host may have delivered one of Wall Street's most perfectly timed calls... for the wrong direction.

Just days ago (July 13th to be exact!), Cramer was praising IBM, calling the stock inexpensive and expressing confidence in CEO Arvind Krishna's leadership.

Then came the wake-up call - literally one DAY later…

IBM shocked investors with a rare profit warning, citing weaker-than-expected results and a business environment increasingly disrupted by artificial intelligence. The stock suffered the largest single-day decline in its history, wiping out TENS OF BILLIONS of dollars in market value.

To be fair, this isn't really about Jim Cramer.

It's about a larger problem facing investors today.

By the time a stock becomes a favorite talking point on television, the opportunity is usually gone. You're reacting to information everyone already knows.

The real money is made by spotting what institutions are doing BEFORE the headlines arrive.

Because IBM's collapse didn't come out of nowhere.

The warning signs were there.

While IBM had reported strong results throughout 2025, including revenue growth, expanding AI-related business, and growing software sales, investors were eventually forced to confront a more difficult reality: execution problems, slowing demand in key segments, and mounting pressure from the AI transition.

That's why following celebrity stock picks can be dangerous.

Markets don't reward popularity.

They reward information.

And when you can identify where the smart money is going or holes left behind in insider trading, you don't need television personalities telling you what to buy…

Which is exactly what my friend Mark Sebastian and I were discussing yesterday morning in our LIVE session.

This is what he’s beating his war drum about, so see for yourself - I know you’ll be intrigued!

Anyways, have a great weekend!  Stay out of the smoke if you’re in the Canadian smoke path, like me!

To YOUR success,

Jeff Bishop

P.S. IBM may be the latest example, but it certainly won't be the last. The market is constantly leaving clues for those who know where to look.
