When Jim Cramer Says “This Is The One”...

Hey Folks, happy weekend!

Sometimes the market gives you a moment so perfect, you couldn't write the script yourself.

Thursday night, Intel (INTC) reported strong earnings and initially surged roughly 10% after hours.

The excitement was everywhere.

And then Jim Cramer said the words that have historically made traders pay attention:

“Intel's the one.”

The timing?

Almost perfect.

Because shortly after Cramer made that declaration, Intel began giving back its gains.

By the next day, the stock had fallen roughly $20 from its after-hours peak.

Alex DeWolf calls a spade a spade!

Now, to be fair, this doesn't necessarily mean Intel is a bad company or that the earnings report was bad.

In fact, the earnings were strong.

But here's the lesson:

A great company can still be a terrible trade at the wrong price.

When a stock jumps 10%, the headlines explode, and everyone starts saying you have to own it, the easy money may already have been made.

And if you want to have a little fun with it...

There's always the Inverse Cramer strategy.

Jim says, “This is the one.”

The stock drops $20.

Coincidence?

You decide.

The bigger lesson is more important:

Don't blindly chase strength.

A bullish earnings report doesn't automatically mean a stock goes higher from there.

Sometimes, the best trade isn't buying the stock everyone is talking about.

It's finding the next opportunity before everyone else starts talking about it.

Best,

Jeff Bishop
